This act resonates deeply in Singapore's multicultural landscape, especially during festive seasons like Chinese New Year. It symbolises good fortune, warding off evil spirits, and celebrating new beginnings. A 10-minute performance can leave a lasting impression on hundreds of guests.
Ensemble Sizes and Performance Formats
Chinese drumming ensembles come in various sizes, typically ranging from 4 to 8 drummers. A 4-person ensemble is suitable for smaller stages or intimate gatherings, delivering strong impact. Larger groups of 6 to 8 drummers create a more grand and resonant sound, ideal for hotel ballrooms or outdoor venues like Gardens by the Bay.
Performances are usually between 8 to 15 minutes long. They can be a standalone act or combined with a lion dance for an even richer cultural experience. Consider the venue size and audience numbers when deciding on the ensemble's scale to maximise impact.

Logistics and Venue Considerations
A Chinese drumming ensemble requires a performance area of at least 4 meters by 4 meters. Ensure the venue has adequate space for the drummers' movements and the large drums. For indoor events, verify that the venue can accommodate the sound levels, as these drums are loud and impactful.
Outdoor events should have a covered area in case of rain. We handle all coordination, including artist technical riders, sound checks, and stage requirements with your venue. This ensures a smooth and impactful performance without any last-minute issues.
